About my social work, psychotherapy, & consulting practice...
I have 10+ years experience with individual and groups, veterans, parents, and aging adults, hospice, and grief counseling with those over age 18.
I have been discovering "resourcing" tools to update inner negative core beliefs towards a more helpful and uplifting perspective.
I am a disaster counselor volunteer with the Red Cross - I've supported person's recovering from storms, hurricanes or wildfire - providing "holding space" as part of my mission with Red Cross, so this person can then launch towards what is next as they obtain housing, and community resources and supports. I am part of my local veteran community, practice social dance, and petting my dog daily.
Social Work
I am a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Washington (LW61042147) and have had a private therapy practice since 2021. I earned a Masters of Arts in Social Work from Eastern Washington University in 2015, post graduate training and experience in hospice medical social work, grief counseling, and trauma therapy.
Psychotherapy
Therapeutic specialties include: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR therapy utilizes neuro-cognitive healing also known as brain science and the individual's natural healing of the mind, body, and spirituality. Other counseling specialties include grief, employment, chronic disability or disease, emotional and relationship issues.
Consulting
As a consultant, I have provided services in event planning/ coordination, and professional counseling and development.
I am focused on helping individuals and communities recover from the trauma of poverty from person-in-environment, solution-focused, trauma-informed approach.
Has talk therapy proven ineffective for you?
Maybe it's time to try a new approach.
Rooted in action-based and experiential trauma therapies including EMDR, somatic movement and creative arts therapies.
While other therapists claim to be "trauma informed" this practice focuses on trauma recovery therapy. The perspective of growing after experiencing trauma is known as "post-traumatic growth" - While we cannot change the past, we can change how past experiences live within us.
An ideal client would be a person who is ready to work through the patterns and issues that keep getting in the way of satisfaction and wellness in life. My work with clients is focused on an individual’s strength while helping them to develop an understanding of their past and present, their inner beliefs and resulting underlying issues. I strive to provide clients with a safe, supportive and caring environment in which to explore their personal issues.
